Marseille is popular by the nickname Phoceens, and the club’s history has been marked by plenty of successful players. The list of top players includes Papin, Deschamps, Barthez, Drogba, and more. Stade Velodrome is Marseille’s home stadium, which is among the most impressive structures of its kind in Europe.
Known as simply Rennes, this French soccer club is part of Ligue 1, and it’s one of the oldest ones in the country. With more than 110 years of rich history, this club has a lot of success on its account, including three Coupe de France championship trophies. The club’s nickname is the Rouges et Noirs, and it has been the home of many legendary players, such as Danze, Sow, Gourcuff, and more. Rennes’ home stadium, Roazhon Park, is one of the oldest in France, and the club has been there for more than a century.
