My name is Kyle Johnson, I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I got into cycling around the age of five, I cut my teeth at the local BMX track for a few years until I got into road racing around the age of 8. After a year or so of racing on the road, I learned about cyclocross from the local junior racing team and gave it a try. I was hooked from the moment the start whistle blew, I had a good first season on my local scene and went to my first Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin in 2013. After my first Nationals, we learned a lot and I continued to grow to get on my first National podium in Austin, Texas in 2015. After a few hard years deciding where I wanted to focus my racing I finally came back to cyclocross and remembered my roots. In 2019, I had my break-out season as a first-year UCI Junior. I had a good season scoring a couple of UCI wins, some good showings in Belgium, and a newfound confidence. I continue to carry that confidence into my first year as an Under 23 and I'm excited for what the future holds.
